Portfolio Summary & Market Outlook
ZNGA - We shorted Zynga and shares fell 7 straight sessions. Today we saw our first up day in almost 2 weeks. That changes nothing.
BIDU & YHOO & AMZN - Great day for all 3 positions. These will all be in the green in no time, with Baidu already there. It was a big day for Chinese tech stocks.
SODA - SodaStream products are a fad that will come and go with time. In fact, the fad is probably on its last legs. The truth of the matter is that they aren't cost effective and not much more convenient than just buying the finished product at your local store or online. The company is on the decline and its stock reflects that. If you've seen a display in your local Wal-Mart, Target, etc., it's likely much smaller this year than it was last. And the prominence of its location has likely changed as well. The company reports earnings on Wednesday. They won't be blowing away any estimates. SodaStream has some savvy execs, so they may try to smoke and mirror the situation with a meaningless announcement. We are shorting the business model and it will pay out over time.
SHLD - Outside of a few key brand names (Craftsman, Kenmore, etc.), Sears is dying. Its revenue drops every year without fail. It has no hope of turning a profit anytime soon. Just another broken business model. So why invest in a dying company? Long-term money will exit this stock until the company is eventually broken up. Our long-term target price on this stock is $0, zip, zilch. But we'll be cashing in a profit much sooner than that.
"My family and I want to thank you for your hard work. The gains I have made with your advice have increased my son's college fund $20,000 in the last year and a half."
